August 29 - Schlick 2000 and Starkenburger Hutte

 

Again we did an early start and took the 8:34am bus to Fulpmes. There we had to walk uphill through town to the base station for the Schlick 2000 gondola which took us to the top station, Kruezjock, which has an altitude of 2100m. Kruez means cross and on a nearby peak there was a cross. For half an hour we followed a path around one lump to Sennjoch, an alm.

Lunch with Knodelsuppe, Kaiserscharrm mit Apfelmus and more.

 

 
After lunch we went back the way we had come.

 

 

 
 
 
After dinner of buffet salad and barbecued sausage, hamburgers and pork chops, several of us went to a Tyrolean performance of traditional dancing and music at the town festhalle.
