September 3 - Sulzenau
It was gray and foggy when we got up. We took a bus up the valley to the Sulzenauhutte bus stop. We crossed the river and started hiking uphill on a rocky and damp trail. Shortly there were some obstacles in the trail (cows). We were variously in, above and below the clouds. After about an hour we swung around the ridge we had been going up into the beginnings of a large glacial cirque.

Here is the Sulzenau Alm where we stopped for refreshments.  |
High up on the ridge of the cirque we could also see the Sulzenau Hutte. |
At the Alm there were numerous amusing carvings. |

Some hiked up the steep trail to the Sulzenau Hutte. hutte. |

Afterwards some took the bus to Neutstift for shopping before returning to
the hotel. |
