Galway and the Burren

In the morning we had time to sightsee and shop in Galway.

The River Corrib
Galway Cathedral

Then we went to The Burren, a unique and weird landscape carved by nature from limestone, where John Connolly of Burren Wild led us on an interesting walk on some of his Burren land.

John tells us about farming in the Burren

Back in our bus

we passed through more of the Burren

on our way to Auburn Lodge in Ennis.

Here we had our farewell dinner and last chance to socialize.

The next morning we went to nearby Shannon Airport for return flights home or for some, the beginning of their own exploration of Ireland.
