Thursday and Friday June 4-5, 2009

DUBLIN

 

After an overnight flight from the USA we arrived in Dublin early in the morning.  We then took public transportation to the city center and our hotel, the Jury's Inn Parnell Street.  There was free time to start exploring the city.

After lunch the group walked to the Guinness Storehouse for a tour and a pint of the famous dark brew.

Friday morning, Gerry Kelly led us on a walking tour of Dublin.  He introduced us to the new, the old, the beautiful and the ugly.  He also described the history of the city.

The afternoon provided free time to continue exploring the city including Trinity College, the home of the famous Book of Kells

 

In the evening we had dinner at the Brazen Head Pub, the oldest pub in Ireland

 

Dinner was accompanied by a Story Teller

 

After dinner there was Irish music in the pub downstairs
