Friday October 14

This was a free day; everyone could choose their own activities.  One group, which included us and the pictures here, took the train to Riomaggiore and then a boat further south to the town of Portovenere.  Here one could wander about the town and see the sights before returning the same way.  Others hiked the "missing link" trail section between Vernazza and Montaerosso.  Some took a dip in the cool but pleasant Mediterranean in Levanto.

Saturday October 15

The morning was free to explore Levanto.  In the early afternoon we took a train to Pisa.
